Changes for version 1.8.1

These changes apply to Resolver One, the Resolver One Player, the Resolver One Web Server, and the Financial Data Feeds add-on.

Release 1.8.1 was minor patch release, updating 1.8 so that it supported systems with specific versions of .NET 2.0. The list of changes below shows what was new in 1.8.

Major Enhancements

  • Upgraded to IronPython 2.6, bringing significant performance and responsiveness benefits.
  • Added workbook property RecalculateAfter, which if set in user code triggers another recalculation after the given number of seconds.
  • Support for new statistics functions: NORMDIST, NORMSDIST, ERF and ERFC.

Minor enhancements

  • Add GetExternalWorkbook function to import Excel files from usercode.
  • Support for FIND function.
  • Support for RAND function.
  • Support for MATCH function.
  • Support for WEEKDAY function.
  • VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP functions now allow wildcards in the key.
  • Add ROUND function
  • Support for new text functions: MID and TRIM.
  • Allow stretched images in cells.
  • First Excel Import triggers dialog offering hints and documentation.
  • Improved responsiveness of GUI & splashscreen progress bar

Bugfixes

  • Fixed: database updates not updating when using SQL server express.
  • Fixed: crash on autocompletion for types module.
  • Fixed: slowness when entering data into the Database Settings Dialog.
  • Fixed: setting a comment on a result worksheet crashes Resolver One.
  • Clarified documentation for MapStrips and Database-Triggered Recalculation.
  • Fixed: bug referencing Result worksheet in column formula.
  • Fixed: should not allow renaming of result worksheets from UI.
  • Fixed: bug importing some Excel files (were assuming Excel 2003).
