The Resolver One Challenge:
Terms and Conditions

  1. The Promoter of this competition is Resolver Systems Limited, 17a Clerkenwell Road, London EC1M 5RD.
  2. This competition is open to anyone worldwide, except for employees of the Promoter, their families or anyone else associated with this competition.
  3. All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  4. The competition comprises five monthly "rounds", each of which has a prize of $2,000. The prize for a round will be awarded to the creator of the best Resolver One spreadsheet submitted to the Promoter during that round. There will be an additional award of $15,000 made to the best overall Resolver One spreadsheet submitted over the course of these rounds.
  5. Entries for the current round of the competition must be received before 23:00 GMT on 30 June 2009. Submission deadlines for future rounds will be specified at or after that time.
  6. If in any round of the competition, no entry is received by the Promoter that is of sufficient quality to be designated the winner of the round (as determined at the sole discretion of the judges), the prize for that round will not be awarded but will be added to the prize fund for the following round.
  7. Entries should be submitted either online via our upload page, by via email to competition@resolversystems.com or by post to: Spreadsheet Competition, Resolver Systems Ltd, 17a Clerkenwell Road, London EC1M 5RD, UK. Entries should include the entrant's name and contact details. Posted entries will not be returned.
  8. All spreadsheets submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that they have full rights to distribute and license their entry, and that it does not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws.
  9. Copyright in all spreadsheets submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of the Promoter's providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to the Promoter to distribute the spreadsheet on their website and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition.
  10. There is no limit on the number of entries per person.
  11. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.
  12. The winner of each round will be notified within seven days of the closing date of the round.
  13. The winners may be required to take part in publicity.
  14. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
  15. English law applies and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts shall prevail.
